Note: During the installation process, you will be required to close all browser windows and restart your computer. Please read these instructions now and print a copy if you'd like to refer to them during the installation process.
We recommend that you scan for spyware before installing Propel. Most computers on the Internet have spyware and it interferes with Propel's ability to operate properly. If you have spyware and your computer and try to install Propel, you will not be able to access web pages without reconfiguring your browser.
Please download and run AdAware SE Personal from our tutorial page by clicking here before you install Propel.
1. If the download does not start automatically, click on “Download Now” button and save the file to your desktop.
2. Once the download is complete, double click on the file you just saved to your desktop. The file name is propelsetup.exe.
3. A “Propel Accelerator Setup: Welcome” dialog box will appear. Click the “Next” button in the lower right corner. The next screen displays the software license agreement. Read and agree to this agreement and click the “Accept” button to continue.
4. When the “Installation Options” screen appears, accept the default settings by clicking the “Next” button in the lower right. The software will begin installing. Near the end of the installation process, a screen displaying information about changing your browser settings will pop up. Click “okay” to continue.
5. A pop up will instruct you to restart your computer. Please restart your computer before you continue.
6. After your computer has finished restarting, you will be asked to log into Propel. Your login is your email address with Fidalgo Networking (e.g.: user@fidalgo.net) and your password is the password that you have with Fidalgo Networking.
7. If you cannot connect to the Internet after installing Propel Accelerator, follow the steps listed below that are appropriate for your browser type.
8. A Propel Accelerator “Quick Tour” should open in a browser window. Please take a few minutes to read through the quick tour to familiarize your self with the usage and features of the Propel Accelerator. Browser ConfigurationAs part of the acceleration process, Propel Accelerator uses the proxy setting in your browser to direct web traffic to the acceleration server. Propel Accelerator automatically configures the proxy setting in Microsoft Internet Explorer; however, it does not automatically configure it for other browsers. Therefore, if you are not using the Internet Explorer browser, you need to locate the proxy setting in your browser and enter the proxy port number and name for Propel Accelerator.
